ASTM Environmental Site Assessment Committee: The American
Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) has been the recognized leader in
establishing standards since 1898. ASTM put together a team of 200+
environmental professionals from across the United States to develop a
standard that would help new property owners meet one of the USEPA
Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability
Act’s (CERCLA) requirements for the innocent landowner defense. Mr.
Blazek was part of the committee that developed the Phase I ESA standard
that is followed today
